Lucas & Baker is located in the heart of the Irish Hills in northern Lenawee County, Michigan. With roots extending back for the better part of a century, our firm has earned a reputation for providing clients with unsurpassed service. Providing services primarily in Jackson, Lenawee, Monroe and Washtenaw Counties, we are experienced in both state and federal court litigation.
While our firm handles a wide range of legal matters,
including but not limited to real estate transactions, business
litigation, personal injury, business formation, estate planning and
domestic relations, our primary area of expertise is in the area of
municipal law and litigation.
A significant portion of our work is the result of
referrals from other attorneys who seek our assistance in representing
their clients in litigation. There is perhaps no greater measure of a
lawyer's skill and standing in the legal community then the willingness
and frequency with which other attorneys refer their clients.
As
a small firm, we are able to maintain total control over all of our files
and provide our clients with consistently excellent service.
Recognizing, however, that there are times when the resources of a
specialist or a larger firm are absolutely essential to protecting our
clients, we maintain close relationships with a number of excellent law
firms throughout Michigan who are available for consultation and
referral.
Mission Statement
The legal profession is, unfortunately, no longer held in high esteem by the general public. This is, in part, because too often attorneys are more concerned with generating a fee than with serving their clients.
Our mission at Lucas & Baker is to practice law in a manner befitting the highest standards of our profession. To us this means placing the interests of the client above all other considerations, treating the client with respect and giving the client honest answers to his or her questions, even if the answers are not the one the client wants to hear.
We never forget that it is our duty to protect your interests and not our own. Sometimes this means advising the client to negotiate towards settlement and sometimes this means litigating. Since no two cases are the alike, there is no one size fits all solution.
While no ethical attorney can guarantee the outcome of any case; there are certain promises that we make when retained to represent you or your organization.
We promise to:
1. Promptly respond to your calls and inquiries. 2. Be prepared to handle your case. 3. Keep you advised of the status of your case
